I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (“RICS”).Over the last decade, I have worked with various international contractors, developers/ owners, and government authorities. For the past eight years, my focus has been on expert witness and expert advisory matters specifically quantum in construction. Can you elaborate on the projects you have worked on and the sectors you have expertise in? I have worked on numerous mega projects globally in various sectors such as leisure, power and utilities, commercial, retail, rail, oil & gas, and aerospace. Notable examples include Dubai Parks & Resorts, Dubai International Airport, Ichthys Project, King Abdhullaziz International Airport, Smart City Malta, Galaxy Casino Macau, and Lusail Doha. Can you provide some insights into your work as a quantum expert witness and your role in resolving disputes? My expertise lies specifically in the field of quantum, which encompasses various aspects. I have experience in estimating damages and construction costs, assessing change, evaluating prolongation claims, analysing disruption and assessing employer claims. As a quantum expert witness, I provide an objective independent opinion on matters in dispute by conducting detailed quantum analysis of project data and accounts. This analysis forms the basis when providing expert witness evidence. Apart from your work as an expert witness, you have also presented on numerous occasions. Can you tell us more about your speaking engagements? As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the RICS and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“CIArb”), I often contribute to the planning and delivery of events such as training or seminars . I also deliver in-house training to law firms, owners, and contractors. This typically being on quantum matters i.e. disruption, prolongation, and change. These engagements allow me to share insights and best practices with industry peers. Your international experience is remarkable. Can you tell us more about the geographical locations where you have worked? Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of gaining international experience. This includes: Australia, Algeria, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the Republic of South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Having experience with these locations has provided me with invaluable insights into different project environments and legal frameworks, strengthening my expertise in international arbitration and dispute resolution.
