SGL Lawyer - Litigation & Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year
Mtre Samuel Grondin, LL.B. (Université de Sherbrooke), J.D. (Queen’s University), LL.M. in ADR (Université de Sherbrooke), is a member of the Quebec Bar and an accredited mediator with the Institute of Mediation and Arbitration of Quebec (IMAQ).
He founded SGL Lawyer, a dispute resolution boutique which provides legal services tailored to the needs and interests of its clients regarding alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (arbitration, conciliation, and mediation) as well as in civil and commercial litigation, and in real estate and administrative law.
His practice in the field of dispute resolution and conflict prevention includes the special arbitration procedures of bracketed arbitration and final offer arbitration – often referred to as “baseball arbitration” – with and without it being preceded by a mediation (MEDALOA).
During his studies, he followed courses abroad dedicated to international arbitration, such as the Arbitration Academy in Paris, France, and public and private international law at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands.
He has also worked with various law professors, including in the field of dispute resolution, which offered him the opportunity to contribute to the International Task Force Force on Mixed Mode of Dispute Resolution, an international group of experts on the subject.
He has published various dispute resolution-related articles in academic law journals which are cited by judicial courts. He is fluent in French, English, and Spanish.
